Buholzer Brothers® Cheesesteak Sandwich

Servings: 4


  • 4 ounces vegetable oil
  • 1 each red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 each green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 each large white onion, sliced thinly
  • 4 tablespoons of butter, salted, room temperature
  • 4 each hogie rolls, buttered and toasted on the grill
  • 16 ounces of raw beef ribeye, thinly sliced (4 ounces per sandwich)
  • 8 slices Buholzer Brothers® Muenster Cheese


  1. On a hot griddle add half of the vegetable oil and cook peppers and onions until soft, divide in 4 parts and set aside
  2. Spread butter on the inside of the rolls and toast on the griddle and set aside
  3. Add additional oil to griddle and spread out with a spatula, then cook sliced beef
  4. Mix in onion and peppers and chop with a metal spatula cutting meat and vegetables in small pieces
  5. Divide and shape meat and vegetables into four mounds the length of the roll
  6. Top each mound of meat with two slices of Buholzer Brothers® Muenster and allow to melt slightly
  7. Fill each roll with a mound of meat and serve warm
